Getting Started

An overview of what is needed to help guide you along before we begin!

1) WHAT I NEED TO GET STARTED

YOUR LOGO

JPEG or PNG if possible.

HOSTING CREDENTIALS

If you are NOT hosting with me, your hosting account login and/or Cpanel username and password.

WORDPRESS LOGIN

An administrator login to your current WordPress site, if one already exists. I will also share after setting up your site.

IMAGES & PICTURES

Current and/or new images and pictures you’d like to use on the new site. Up to 12 stock images available with a new site.

CONTENT

Page content and any updated verbiage/information for the site. Copywriting assistance available.

STYLE GUIDE

Brand style guide, colors or any specific design requirements.

These items can be uploaded to your secure Box.com folder or sent via Wetransfer.com

2) TRELLO

Trello is a great online platform for communication and project management. I use this to send messages, share files and track progress during the process. This will help keep content and images together in one place (vs. searching in email threads). Messages will post directly in Trello and can be easily found. Once your project is underway, you’ll receive an email to join the Trello board set up for your project, and we’ll be off and running!

3) BOX

Box is a great online image/file sharing platform. You could easily upload images in Trello, but if you have more than 15-20 images for your website or if they’re too big, we can use Box. Similarly, you can also use this to share login information instead of sending through email. I will set up a folder for the project and share the link with you. You can upload all images and files there.

4) WETRANSFER

Wetransfer is another great option for online image/file sharing. It’s super easy to upload and send large files to a recipient, who will receive a link via email to download the files. Files are available for download up to 7 days, unless you use a paid account.

5) DESIGN PROCESS

Designing a website, no matter how big or small, is an elaborate process

To help eliminate overwhelm, I have outlined my 3-step process below

LAYOUT AND DESIGN

A large and time consuming part of designing a website is in the planning and layout stage of the process. My Done-For-You website designs were created to help save time required with such projects. These websites are designed with aesthetics and functionality business owners in your field of service and expertise need the most.

DEVELOPMENT

Once all relevant material and information (branding and content) is shared with me, your site can be up and running in a week. The goal is to make your site not only look great, but also reflects your business accurately online. We will test all functionality of your site and make sure it works well across all devices and web browsers before going live.

EDITS & REVISIONS

Once the site is ready for final review, you’ll be able to check each page and make a list any edits you would like to make. Please review ALL pages to make sure all spelling, grammar, addresses and information are correct. You will have up to 2 rounds of revisions to finalize the edits and then it's time to go Live!

6) WRAPPING UP & GOING LIVE!

Once the site is ready to go live, all unnecessary plugins, pages, images and backend files will be removed. The new site will be backed up and saved locally, should it ever need restored. Once live, it may take between 24-48 hours for the new site to show on some devices. Some computers will need to be refreshed although most computers will see the new site immediately depending on the wifi connection and where they are in relation to the location of server that the website is on.

Your website logins and all credentials will be sent to you via Trello or Box.  Though your logins and passwords will be saved by me locally, PLEASE SAVE ALL LOGINS FOR YOUR RECORDS AS WELL. Upon completion, you’ll receive a link to my “moving forward” page where you’ll receive information, tips and tricks on what to do with your new website, as well as details on  Maintenance/Security Plans which I highly recommend for all my clients.
